Janne Tuovinen (b. 1986)
is Helsinki-based Jazz musician from Iisalmi, Finland. He plays the double bass, electric bass, violin and viola. He is also a composer, arranger and teacher.
Musical path shortly...
At the age of six he started to play the classical violin. He is one of four siblings who all played the violin as children. Janne's interest in music was strong from his early years and he soon became determined to make a living out of it.
At the age of 20 his interest in jazz music became stronger and he changed his instrument from viola to the electric bass and a few years later to the double bass.
He currently studies on the Master's Degree program of the Jazz department in Sibelius Academy.
Today he can be described as one of the top jazz bassists in Finland.
